Arrived in San Diego
5 november 2018 - San Diego, California, Verenigde Staten
This morning I woke up for the first time in my new home. Although my room is perfect and my bed good, it was 3 o'clock and I didn't fall asleep again. Thanks to the jetlag, those 9 hours, it takes me a week always. So I am totally awake and ready for my first tests today, yes!.
In Los Angeles I spent some wonderful days with Lotte, like doing a beach walk to Santa Monica and back- more than 10 miles, having brunch at Redondo beach, together with Lottes boyfriend and shopping stuff for my student-life like a coffee machine of course;)
Yesterday was a challenging day, but I did well! Before checking out at my motel, I figured out my route to San Diego. Since it was Sunday, I first wanted to go to Hillsong church, which is on the route in Orange County. So I drove for 50 minutes to the Yost theater and had an awesome time in church. Somebody thought that I was a local so I have already adjusted well to the American culture;) Then I continued heading San Diego, with open window and the radio loud. Perfect.
87 Miles later I parked just in front of Vantaggio Suites, loaded off my luggage, checked in, then back to my car, filled the tank at the gas station, dropped off the car at Alamo's nearby San Diego airport and 2 miles back skateboarding. On the way a stop at Ralphs, the supermarket for food where I met a nice lady. I must have looked already like a poor student for she first gave me her bag and then 3 bananas..? She said she want to share with me, how sweet. Finally I made a simple diner, while meeting some roommates from 6 different countries. What a day!! I love it.
