Bought a bike!

16 november 2018 - San Diego, California, Verenigde Staten

Last weekend I went on an adventure to buy a nice, affordable bike. I figured out that you can best buy this at Walmart, however, this is about 14 mile away. So I thought let's make it a nice day trip. Debbie, my Swiss housemate and I took the bus to Coronado Island where she got off for a sunny beach walk and I stayed on the bus for another half an hour. I was just asking the driver how to get to Walmart when a lady got involved in the conversation and I could join her for she was on her way to this store too. How nice.

While we were waiting for the connection I found out that she was a retired teacher from Washington DC and owns a house on Coronado Island with her husband (like a lot of other retired wealthy people). We came on the subject of the many homeless people and I asked her what Trump thinks he could do. And guess what, she was a Trump fan. That's a quite rare phenomenon in California. My teacher is apologizing at least 3 times a day for the president and most of his examples to explain a word or a phrase, are based on Trump, supported by waving the American flag. Hilarious:)

Finally, I bought my bike, THANKS to my dear (ex)colleagues who gave me this present! and cycled 10 miles back, all way along the ocean! I enjoyed this so much. I met Debbie again at the Ferry terminal where we took the Ferry to Seaport Village and celebrated the day and the bike with a beer and a Margarita.

Tuesday was my movie night: "A star is born". I bought a ticket and got a discount with my Student card hahaha! But in a bar I've been never asked for my ID, strange, though?;)

After 2 weeks class my English skills seem to decrease... I' ve been taught so many new words and different or better ways to say something that I'm confused and it feels like everything is mixed up in my mind and I get stuck in every sentence Grrrr.. So the next weeks I need to work with all the new information to make it my own. I'm really tired at the end of each day! It's my challenge taking time to learn...and to rest;)

And now is the weekend, yay! Enjoy!
