Tired but Inspired

On my way home

It's quite an adventurous trip home;) I'm sitting in a very small, sort of playmobile plane with Serbian Air, that gives room to only 17 rows of two by two seats. These seemed to be built for people without legs or something. I even can't fully open my screen on my lap, because it's hitting the seat in front of me. Hopefully this passenger is not planning on a nap, pushing his seat back, it would kill me. However, it's flying, we don't have to flap our arms to help it get going.  That's the good thing.

The plan was to take a connected flight in Belgrado to Amsterdam, yet we had a delay of an hour and 15 minutes, while my layover only gives me 50 minutes. I tried to get myself on another flight because there won't be other connections today, but the airport servicedesk didn't provide much help. Finally I decided to take this delayed plane and I just heard, thank God, that my flight will be waiting if I'm able to run. Yes I am! 

Challenged

This was an interesting week of meeting new lovely people, coming from Germany, France, Iceland, Bulgaria, Belgium, Switzerland and lots from the UK. They all speak English except for the British people.. Really, I had such a hard time to understand them! While eating together, music and noise on the background, I was trying to stick the most understandable fragments of their stories to an idea of what they were actually talking about;) I did a lot of nodding and yeah's hoping I could change the topic quickly to something I was more familiar with;) 

Book translation job

I've met a sweet lady from Iceland who loves Jesus and loves Muslims. She has written a book about the difference between Muslims and Christians. She studied the Quran and the Bible, seeking for answers to questions like "is Jesus really God", "did Jesus die on the cross" and more. She also reflects on Jesus from different views. It can be read online for free in many languages. ("whojesus.is") This topic has my attention, since I'm working with Muslims teaching them Dutch. She asked me if I'm willing to translate it to Dutch. I've never done that before but I like the challenge and want to give it a try.. 

October Fest

One of the meetings started with a song especially for the German;) A "schlager" that we got to learn, arms linked and moving to the right and to the left, singing: " I don't always like thinking, but I do like drinking", haha. Of course this was not necessarily about beer, but about drinking the Living Water: taking in from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes this can appear like being drunk, falling on the floor or freely laughing and laughing. The last night this was happening all over the room, people couldn't stop laughing. The person who was supposed to preach, wasn't able to finish one sentence, ending up in such a contagious laugh that everyone started over laughing again;)

Deeper Still

I'm thankful for the quality time with Noah. We chatted a lot, we were sharing our hearts or just having fun. We also did some prep for the ministry: we had a zoom call with the guy who's building the website, hopefully it will be running online in about six weeks. (deeperstill.nl). 

Next

My next trip will be in December, right after Christmas. I'll be visiting Lotte again and I've taken the month January off as well, not sure yet what I'm going to do, but by then you 'll find my new blogs in your e-mail box;)
