Blogging at 40.000 ft

It’s crowded at the airports, I was waiting in line for 1 hour and a half to drop off my baggage, and after all security checks I had to run straight to the gate. By the time all passengers were seated, the flight was delayed for an hour. What’s affecting my connection In Toronto. It looks like I need to run again;) I’m glad Lotte and I got time this morning to start the day peaceful, having a coffee!

Americans love comfy

Shops full of comfortable cloths, people walking the dog in sort of pyjamas, multiple places to take away food or drinks and drive- throughs so you comfortably stay in your air- conditioned car. Ever seen a dry cleaner’s with drive through? I did;)

Family visits

Finally, I could make it to aunt Willy and cousins Jacky and Monica. No positive tests in the way anymore. So happy to be with them, and that Lotte came along too! I learned a Dutch game, with the interesting name “Keezen”, something in between “mens erger je niet” and “pesten”. That was fun.

Palm Springs and the Casino

From Hesperia, we continued our trip through the desert to a luxury hotel resort in Indio (near Palm Springs), which was Lottes idea since they have a casino;) After all those weeks of spiritual activity, she thinks it’s time for mom to do something “wordly” :)). People who know me, don’t see me gambling often. First because I am the person who likes to be in control, but that part of me is under construction now;) Secondly, I feel not attracted to the money chasing. But I do like the connection with my daughter and to have fun together. We put in $50,- each and played Roulette. We were lucky and won a few rounds and ended up with $185,-. That was nice but the thing that was really hysterical: At that table, with other players around, I accidentally dropped one of the coins in my cocktail..:))

Reflecting

The last days were an opportunity to relax and reflect. Long walks at the beach, listening to music, journaling and re-reading notes. What will be my next move, next step? How do I implement all these rich experiences into my life at home? Good questions. Without a concrete plan, yet. But it will come.

Every day began with joining Lotte walking the dog. In the evenings, we once went for shopping in a mall without buying anything haha, an other day we went out for dinner with Ryan and once we played cards. I learned to play Ticket to ride. Train- Travelled across North America. Nice. We closed off yesterday with a last drink at a bar, never stop talking;)

I’m arriving on Monday, skipping the night due to the time difference, and Tuesday morning back to work, fully ready to work Vitamientje! :0 Yay;)

PS: I had literally 30 minutes until my next flight was leaving. I didn’t want to disappoint Peter by missing it, because I had to upload this blog (just kidding, Peet) that's why I’m sending it now from Schiphol! Glad I made it. My suitcase didn't, so I don't need to do laundry yet.:)
